In four years, Sallarulo’s Race for Champions 5K Run/Walk has raised over $1,600,00 for Special Olympics Broward County. We hope that through the generous support of our sponsors and supporters, we can raise another $750,000 this year.

Be a part of SOMETHING SPECIAL and join us for the 2010 Sallarulo’s Race for Champions 5K Run/Walk (In Memory of Katie Crowley) on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Nova Southeastern University.

Race for Champions Goals:

· Establish an annual fund raising event to benefit Special Olympics Broward County and build a Special Olympics Broward County Sports Complex.

· Educate the Broward community that Special Olympics is a year round program.

· Share the Athlete’s gifts, skills and friendship with our community.

 A SPECIAL OLYMPICS ATHLETE WILL AWARD A MEDAL TO EACH RACE PARTICIPANT!

From I-95 exit at I-595, proceed west to University Drive exit. Turn left (south)  onto University Drive. Proceed approximately 1 ½ miles to SW 30 Street (Abe Fischler  Blvd.), turn left (east). NSU's main campus will be on the right side.

Registration Information:

Registration & Packet Pick-up is from 6:15am to 7:55am.  Race numbers and Chronotrack tags will only be distributed to those registered by 7:30am.  The 5K Run/Walk will start at 8:00am.  The Awards Ceremony will start at approximately 9:15am.

Awards and Age Divisions:

Awards will be given to top 3: Male & Female First Overall; Masters Male & Female Overall; First Male & Female Wheelchair. Three Deep Age Group, 10 & under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+ .  The Awards Ceremony will start at approximately 8:45am.

Timing:

This race will be timed with the New Chronotrack Timing System.  Your bib number will have your timing D tag attached to it.  Please do not remove this D Tag until you get to the race. Once at the event peel the tag off and follow the instruction on the tag as to how to place it on your running shoe. If you need assistance there will be personnel to help.

Refreshments:

A variety of food and drinks will be available to all participants.  Refreshments provided by FreshPoint-SouthFlorida AND Paramont Vending, Inc.

Registration:

5K Run/Walk Pre-Registration Fee = $20

ALL 5K Race Day Entries = $25

Family of 4 Registration Fee = $50

Special Olympics Athlete/Unified Partner/Coach Registration = free
